Alright so this next band I recently came across through the wonders of TWITTER, yes Twitter(you know MySpace is dead when you no longer flock to it for new music to check out). This band actually just randomly started following me on Twitter, and me being one of those fair and balanced music fans always willing to listen to any random band in hopes of finding the next Crash Moderns or Pink Spiders, I gave um’ a listen!
Glad I did, cause they are pretty bitchin’
The band is, SIREN SON (http://www.myspace.com/sirenson) and they hail from sunny California….Los Angeles to be precise. Their sound is indie, rock, and some pop in there. They remind me of bands like The Arctic Monkeys and yeah, ok, a little Takeover UK too.
This band rocks. Their songs, particularly “Sweet Girl” and “Love Mangled Heart” are upbeat and will easily make you want to bob your head fiercely in a crowd of people in a small club venue, which is good, cause we need more ROCK bands like that. Not nearly enough bob your head type rock bands as much anymore.
“Isabelle” is an acoustic ballad with vocals that question if Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) is behind the vocals….but, that thought is quickly put to rest when you notice that Siren Son’s lead singer can actually SING and you can actually understand him…unlike the Vampire Brit that Twilight freaks go nuts over! hahaha.
Seriously, can ANYONE actually make out wtf Pattinson is singing in the songs he has on the Twilight soundtrack?! bahaha, sounds more like mumbling! lol something not evidence by Siren Son.
Ok, I think I used this description before, but just cause it’s my favorite movie to date, I will use it again:
SIREN SON is the type of band I wouldn’t be surprised to hear on the Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist soundtrack, had the movie come out now, instead of 2008.
Yeah, Nick and Norah would be fans!
(fyi, if you haven’t seen N&N’s infinite playlist, wtf you waiting for? it’s hilariously awesome….and go read the book too—yes, It was a book before it was a movie, and there are some changes the movie made from the book!)
All you Indie rocker fans will dig this band, and all you rockers that just wanna get down and have the straight up rock experience!
Currently, Siren Son have a handful of shows in and around the Los Angeles area with a little Twitter contest going on now to give away their latest EP for Free to any fan/follower that Tweets their MySpace URL and @reply them to help promote the band.

And They are on Facebook too, but it’s under their previous band name, Martyrs, which was changed because apparently there are around 8 other bands with the name, Martyrs, and Siren Son were being mistaken for a Christian Metal band….Christians like metal?!?! & Oh yeah, Siren Sons like the flirt with the female variety, as evidence by a tweet they posted a few weeks ago that I found interesting/funny/random/cool:

Don’t you just love the flirts that are the very sexual male rockstars?! Always a good time hanging out with rockstars….no pun intended…HAHA!
Gotta love the type of bands that aren’t so serious and can have a good time w/ randomness and, in this case, getting down and dirty? yes? ha.
