Penny for your thoughts…

Hello Party People?! Ready for another dose of awesomeness to rock your faces off?! Of course you are, so hold tight, i’ve got a good one this week! Now if you’ve read my previous posts(you should stop reading right now and do so if you have not) then you may have caught on that all these bands I feature have, in some way or another follow the 6 degrees of separation from a previously featured band. I believe that badass bands are all connected, so just follow the awesome and talented musicians of your favorite bands to search for that next best thing, musicwise.

Seriously, you like so and so band, then look into the type of bands that THEY like, cause seriously, they have to get inspiration for those songs of theirs that you sing along to naked in the shower, right?!

So anyway, I found out about this band like 2 weeks ago from The Crash Moderns and the wonders of the new Facebook music fan pages. The band is THE PENNYROYALS, also a New York area band and friends with The Crash Moderns(you will notice both bands constantly tag each other in their status messages and do a little promotion for the other band by prompting their fans to add the other band).

Their music, though there is only 4 on their facebook page:http://www.facebook.com/thepennyroyals?ref=nf

is a little bit of the band Halifax(not to mistaken for the city in England!)—see, “All I Know”, as well as a little bit of Senses Fail—see, “White Noise”

Upon first listen I instantly loved them! And Usually it takes me a while to truly get into a new band….now that I think about it, My first dose of The Crash Moderns music also turned me into a fan instantaneously…tell you something about how good The Pennyroyals are! :)

The New York scene is impressing me everyday! Next week I’ll share with you another NYC band that also has ties w/ TCM.

Currently, The Pennyroyals are playing a few shows in the New York/New Jersey area with The Crash Moderns(http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Crash-Moderns/7239775810) and another awesome band, Man On Earth(more on them coming soon to music scout).

You can keep tabs with The Pennyroyals on Twitter: http://twitter.com/thepennyroyals  There are more songs on their myspace player then they currently have on their Facebook player.

as well as on MySpace: www.myspace.com/pennyroyals
