Why be blue when you can be COBALT!!!
Woahhh, long time no post! Been meaning to post a entry on this next band for some time now since I first experienced their utter awesomeness back in January 2011. Again, I must say thanks to the hyper-pop/rock band, Dot Dot Dot for helping me find out this band existed, and within the Chicago city limits, no less! Of course, the band I’m talking about is Cobalt and the Hired Guns. But...

real Rock&Roll is coming back again:
I just came across this badass band, called The Last Vegas, and they are from Chicago, WOOHOO!!! I have yet to see this band live, but just cruising their various inter-webbing websites was enough to turn me into a fan!
Seriously, this band is hardcore rock.
They are influenced by Aerosmith, AC/DC, Cheap Trick, KISS, Motely Crue, Sex Pistols,… So you know they stay true to the classic hard...

How Cute!
So this band is not exactly unknown, for the most part. This band has gotten it’s fair share of publicity from 2005-2009 and I guarentee you have found yourself humming one of their tunes or blasting the volume when one of their songs came on the radio.
The band is Cute Is What We Aim For:
I’ve always considered Cute one of my few absolute favorite bands going back to Warped Tour...
Spiders are running in the streets again..Update:
Once upon a time I started this little music blog and the first band I HAD to feature was The Pink Spiders, the band that started it all, for me. The band that got me into the current music scene and introduced me to so many other bands. Warped Tour 2006 was more then just a festival for me, it introduced me to my favorite band. I’ve had great great times at Pink Spiders shows since then.
I...

You get some pretty awesome and really ridiculously weird/funny prizes if you help donate whatever...

The Bigger Lights music video for “Hey Summer”
ROCK IT, party people! Who doesn’t love a skinny jean wearing, side swept hair lead singer in your bathroom when your naked in the shower?! haha! :P
The lights! They burn bright!
I have been lacking on the updates the past two weeks but that’s cause Finals consumed my week(s) but now that summer is here Music is reborn into more awesomeness. Seriously, what is it about hot sweaty summers being the best time for music and concerts in general? It’s like perfect. I like to think that the hot sweaty summers fall in nicely with the hot sweaty attractive rockstars...

do you see the sirens?
Alright so this next band I recently came across through the wonders of TWITTER, yes Twitter(you know MySpace is dead when you no longer flock to it for new music to check out). This band actually just randomly started following me on Twitter, and me being one of those fair and balanced music fans always willing to listen to any random band in hopes of finding the next Crash Moderns or Pink...
I'm sure 'Nick and Norah' would 'infinite...
So I gave a little taste of whats to come to this blog, last week when I told you all about The Pennyroyals…and i’m hear to deliver on that sneak peak. This next band also came to my attention thanks to The Crash Moderns (see? it pays to look up bands that other bands are friends with/fans of themselves!).
Man On Earth (http://www.facebook.com/manonearth?ref=ts) is yet another up and...
Penny for your thoughts...
Hello Party People?! Ready for another dose of awesomeness to rock your faces off?! Of course you are, so hold tight, i’ve got a good one this week! Now if you’ve read my previous posts(you should stop reading right now and do so if you have not) then you may have caught on that all these bands I feature have, in some way or another follow the 6 degrees of separation from a previously...

Update 101
A couple of the current Music Scout bands have some pretty exciting shit going on with themselves at the moment and I wanted to support those bands by spreading the word on whats new with these bands since I last presented a blog feature on them. I’m thinking that I might do and Update 101 entry each week just to keep things up to date with the bands I have introduced you to.
So here goes,...
The Zut Alors ain't got nothing on Chicago Cops!
Hello one and all, it’s been a while but i’m back to blow the earwax from your ears and open your mind to new music. So if you haven’t bid that earwax goodbye the last 8 times since i started this blog, then I think it’s time you do so today.
Alrighty so this next band, I found out about through another music scout band(surprise surprise-6 degrees of separation much?)....

Music video for AH LA LA
The Takeover UK TAKES OVER YOUR MINDDD! hahaha.
Fyi: the song was also featured on the NBC show, Castles
Ah La La Lalalalalaaaaaa over and over till you...
This next band I got into thanks to another featured band, my buds in The Crash Moderns. Back in the last decade, in 2009 The Crash Moderns went on tour with this band and introduced me to quite possibly the band with the most infectious songs around. The band is The Takeover Uk (www.myspace.com/thetakeoveruk) and no, they aren’t from the UK like their name suggested, they are actually...
One question: Are You Insecure?
So this next band got its name from those little fears and doubts we all have. The stuff we don’t want anyone to know that bother us, the kind of shit we all like to keep away locked up so the people around us won’t judge our personalities if they ever found out. We all are guilty of having one, or a few insecurities and this Chicago area band, ironically named, THE...
Are YOU an Atombomb?
Hey Hey Hey, it’s starting to get hard to decide on which bands to feature each week, So with something hard, I’ll move onto something soft….COMASOFT, that is.
Now they aren’t soft, they just happen to have SOFT in their name. They are acually pretty rockin’. Comasoft (www.myspace.com/comasoft) hail from Chicago. Their sound is pretty much a rock/electronica/powerpop...
Care for an Ellipsis, anyone?
This next band is a little different then all the rest, this band is a rock/powerpop/get up and shake your ass on the dance floor kind of cover band…yes, I said cover band. Before you go hating on cover bands for butchering your favorite hit songs, hold up. This next band has successfully performed these hit songs hands down better then the original artists….which tells you something...

Hey Sugar!
Hey Music World,
It’s that time again for me to tell you about another awesome band that deserves your eyes and ears! I recently decided that with every band I feature, I will try to follow up on that band with another that is in someway linked to the previous band. I started with The Pink Spiders and followed up with The Armed Forces because they are from the same town, and members of both...
Did anyone find the scene girls yet?!
Last week, when I introduced you all to The Armed Forces I mentioned how difficult it was for me to decide on who the second band should be. I was stuck deciding between AFMF and this next band. Both are truly truly amazing bands but in the end i’m glad I went with The Armed Forces as the second band because writing that review of them was so much fun and got me itching to post the next band...
Update 1/20/10: The Armed Forces just recently released their current single of the month entitled, “Totally Sad, Dude” and this is the music video for the song, which is pretty effin brilliant, if i do say so myself. Even more proof that this band will DEFINITELY be busting out of the underground scene soon enough!
Here Kitty Kitty!
I’ve been putting off writing this next entry for the past two days, trying to decide what band should be the second band featured in this blog. I finally decided, that would be a band, also from Nashville, Tennessee and buddies with The Pink Spiders(see earlier post). This band is called, The Armed Forces (www.thepeopleschurchofthearmedforces.com) and they are a very well kept secret in the...
The start of amazingness
A couple days ago, I received the February 2010 issue of Alternative Press magazine in my mailbox. I had been getting a subscription to this magazine since early 2007. I always loved the magazine because it was about the music that I loved, Rock, and always had interesting articles and featured some interesting bands and polls and stuff. It wasn’t till the January 2009 issue when you could...
